The Voidspawn is a spark that can possess other creatures, ultimately turning into a completely second personality that occasionally takes control of the body.
Anatomy
A Voidspawn can be any creature living on Tael. It will be possessed by a Voidspawn spark, ultimately merging their souls together, allowing the Voidspawn to occasionally take over the body. When the Voidspawn takes over, the physical appearance stays almost the same. The eyeballs will only get a dark purple outline filled with tiny little stars, and the iris will take on a special star-shaped form. For this reason, Voidspawns usually avoid eye contact while they are actively talking to someone.
Behavior
While the creature possessed will continue his normal life, the Voidspawn within will occasionally take control of the body, depending on the situation and relationship between the soul and spark, more or less willingly.
Voidspawns generally seek no ill intention when they take control over a body or possess a body. If they notice that the creature actively does not want to have its life interfered by the Voidspawn, it will leave the body and look for a new host. However, it will make the creature forget that it was ever possessed, as the general knowledge of the existence of Voidspawns is preferred to be kept secret, as it could eventually lead to people learning about the existence of Voidlords.
History
Voidspawns, originally coming to Tael to ensure that the aftermath of the Voidwar had not influenced the life on Tael, eventually learned that the life down there is actually quite interesting and decided to stay a bit longer. A Voidspawn is part of a Voidlord, splitting part of its spark so it can land on Tael and live a secret life there.
The gods on Tael are well aware of the existence of Voidspawns, though they consider them more of a danger since they can never know their real intentions. Voidlings can physically see the presence of other Voidlings on Tael, as they are basically walking beacons for them. Therefore, Voidspawns can't really hide their identity from them, so they try to avoid them in general.
Abilities
In addition to the race-specific abilities of the creature being possessed, Voidspawns add a few extra ones.
Voidlord-born
The modifier of every attribute is increased by 8.
Sparkform
When the creature possessed by a Voidspawn dies, the Voidspawn within will take on its Sparkform and either return to the void or look for a new host.
