Monetar is the Voidling of the concept of Trade and currently resides at Monetar Tower in Blackgold.

Role

Monetar represents the concept of Trading and introduced the concept of currency into the world to make it easier for people to make fair trades. To make trade worldwide accessible and easy, he introduced a single magic currency that he personally controls to maintain its value.

Appearance

It's a surprisingly sleek look for a goblin, for sure. Monetar usually wears a fancy tuxedo with a classical top hat and is always carrying his golden walking cane, which acts as his focus if he ever desires to use magic.

History

While the concept of exchanging goods was already established worldwide, Monetar made some suggestions to Tael to make the whole process more efficient and understandable for everyone.

"Introducing: Coins! A centralized currency with a stable value that can always be exchanged for goods back and forth!"

Tael: "So, instead of exchanging goods for goods directly, they should exchange them for this weird gold coin? Wouldn't that make things more complicated?"

Monetar: "Only in the beginning can I guarantee you that it will open so many more possibilities for the people; listing them all seems almost impossible."

Tael: "Hm, I don't know, how about this, we can try out your concept with a little test group first, see how they react, what they do, how they handle it, if they thrive, I see no problem."

Monetar: "Sounds fair enough. What is this little group you are talking about?"

Tael: "Oh, it's just a funny little race of creatures that recently emerged. I think they would really like something to help them manage their weird goods better. I think their established name is 'goblins'."

Cleric's Deity Abilities

Minor

Eyes of Monetar: Instantly determine the real value of anything you look at for the next minute. If you look at a creature you will know how much monetary value it is carrying with it (including gold and value of items). Activating this ability can be done completely unpercievable to anyone else around you.

Usable once per day. Does not require an action to activate and can be done while restrained and silenced.

Major

Smite of Greed: Deal 1d4 Striking Damage to the target. For every 50 gold the target carries, deal an additional 1d4 Damage. For every 100 gold, roll an extra d20 for the hit check, and choose the best result. On a critical hit, the target will be petrified as a golden statue for 3 turns. While petrified, the target cannot move or act in any way, and melee and spell attacks will never miss.

Usable once per day. This Ability is considered a Spell Action
