A massive spider that originally laid in ambush in the wheat fields of the plains, though for obvious reasons it has become quite rare to protect the farmers.

Habitat

Planespiders used to live in the wheat fields all over the world, however during the great extermination they got almost completely pushed back into caves. It is however still possible to encounter one of them in the plains, as their instincts sometimes drive them out of the caves.

Anatomy

Eight legged arachnoids that are up to 2 meter wide, but only up to 0.5 meter high. Their bodies are covered in thin brown hairs that are usually connected to silkstrings that lead to all around it. When someone steps on one of the strings, the Planespider will feel the direction from the pull on their hairs. They have two large fangs that they use to dissect their prey and a small stinger in the back with a paralyzing toxin inside.

Behaviour

Planespider cast a wide web across the floor that they connect to their legs afterwards and lay ambush, waiting for something to step on the web and triggering a little reaction in their detection hairs.

In plains they lay in ambush hidden between the grains or tall grass, as their size is mostly flat but wide. When a prey comes close, they jump on it and attempt to either enweb or paralyze it.

In caves, they lay in ambush on the cave's ceilings and fall down to attack.
