Every ability or spell in this world is connected to a certain type of damage, and different elements might interact differently with each other.

Description

All damage types are grouped into three major types: mortal, magical, and celestial.

Mortal

Mortal represents the more physical or raw sources of damage.

Category Type Description
Physical Striking Damage dealt by bludgeoning forces like hammers, fists, guns, etc.
Piercing Damage dealt by piercing mortal skin by means of daggers or bows, for example.
Slicing Damage dealt by slicing a blade across a body. Examples are scimitars or scythes.
Mental Mental Effects that directly affect someone's mind without the need for magic are insults or threats. They usually do little to no damage directly, but they can potentially cause other effects, such as taunting.

Magic

Magic represents the main types of energy conjurable by magic.

Category Type Description
Nature Fire Damage dealt by flames. Can sometimes apply the burning effect depending on the source of the damage.
Water Damage dealt by the forces of water. Always applies the wet status to the target.
Ice Damage dealt by Ice. Can sometimes apply the freezing effect depending on the source of the damage.
Earth Damage dealt by earthly forces. Can be anything from magic rocks to plants.
Wind Damage dealt by heavy winds.
Electric Damage dealt by Lightning. Can sometimes apply the paralyzed effect depending on the source of the damage.
Arcane Arcane Raw magic that is not directly connected to any other kind of magic.

Celestial

Celestial represents the powers cast or powered by greater Gods, or affecting the soul directly.

Category Type Description
Psychic Psychic Damge dealt directly to the mind and soul of the creature. Often the source of other Psychological status effects.
Void Temporal Damage dealt by the disruption of the natural time flow.
Chaos Powers so chaotic you never really know what to expect, everything is possible in the infinite vastness of the Void.
Necrotic Necrotic Life-draining powers straight from the Nachwelt.
Lunar Lunar Lunar magic is powered by the shadowy veil of Lunara, the dim light of the night. It cannot affect entities affected by Solar power.
Solar Solar Solar magic that is powered by the guiding lights of Suuna. Cannot affect entities affected by Lunar powers.
