Each creature on Tael can usually be categorized into a certain level of sentience. These are the potential Categories and their meaning.

Sapient

This term typically describes creatures with human-like intelligence and self-awareness. They can reason, communicate, and often possess complex cultures and societies.

Sentient

Sentient beings are capable of perception, awareness, and experiencing sensations. While they may not reach the same level of intelligence as sapient beings, they can still think, feel, and react to their environment.

Semi-Sapient

Semi-sapient creatures may exhibit some level of intelligence or problem-solving ability, but they are usually less developed than fully sapient beings. They might have basic communication skills or instincts that guide their behavior.

Non-Sapient

Non-sapient creatures lack significant intelligence or self-awareness. They typically operate on instinct and may have limited capacity for learning or adaptation beyond basic survival behaviors.

Animalistic

This term refers to creatures that primarily behave like animals, with little to no capacity for complex thought or communication beyond basic instincts.

Primitive

Primitive creatures may possess some rudimentary forms of culture or social structure, but their intelligence and sophistication are limited compared to sapient beings.

Beastial

This term is often used to describe creatures that are purely animalistic in nature, lacking any semblance of intelligence or sentience beyond survival instincts.
